Why indeed? A little about myself my mom passed away at age 55 with stage 4 colo-rectal cancer, a definite wake-up moment for me.
Up until I was 28 when my mom passed away, I was concerned about my health from a physicality perspective. I would work-out at the gym 5-7 days a week and not worry about what I ate. Basically my staples were fast-food burgers, salads, fries, easy foods like canned soups, crackers, instant noodles and ketchup with KD. Not a fruit or green item in sight. But really when I looked back, my high school cafeteria options were burger and fries, fish and chips and iceberg lettuce green salad. There wasn't a lot of resources or education around except for the Food Pyramid.
After my wake-up call I started eating more fresh fruits and vegetables and all the while still eating highly processed foods laced with high-fructose corn syrup and other hidden sugars.
Several documentaries later (Food Inc, Supersize Me, Game Changers) I was introduced to Juice Plus+.
Vancouver is nicknamed City of Glass by a local author/artist Douglas Copeland. A growing city that is essentially exhausted urban sprawl and is now growing upwards. This is how I started growing my our vegetables in my condo with a Juice Plus+ Tower Garden. Smoothies, fresh salads and herbs, cost savings on basil and pesto sauce AND there's no dirt to wash off.
